TMB chairman apologises for causing offence

Sir Norman Wrassle
Tripe Marketing Board chairman Sir Norman Wrassle has apologised for an incident which occurred yesterday on the 16.27 train from Leeds to Wigan Wallgate.

In a statement issued from his Lytham home this morning, Sir Norman said: “I was asked to produce my ticket by an inspector but couldn’t find it and was asked to buy another one.  When I said Yorkshiremen are always chasing money this was meant as a compliment. Some of my best friends are Yorkshiremen".

After underlining his intention not to resign his position as chairman, Sir Norman said: "I was taking medication for a chesty cough and on reflection probably drank too much Benylin".
