Tripe Marketing Board chairman Sir Norman Wrassle called on tripe lovers the world over to make "one last push" to raise money for the TMB's Christmas charity, the UK Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Speaking from his Lytham home last night, Sir Norman said: "We believe that over £400 has already been donated to the MSS through the 'Ooh - you are offal!' Twitter campaign. In addition, through sales of our 2015 Diary we have raised an additional £210 which we'll be sending off to them in the new year".
Sir Norman thanked everyone who has already participated. "Everyone has been most generous in uncovering offal puns - including our colleagues at British Spleen, to whom we are particularly grateful," he said.
He also unveiled a new way to support the cause. "Earlier this year, we issued our Annual Report and Accounts on Kindle. I'm told it hasn't yet charted, but I have decided that all of the profits from its distribution - £1.25 from each sale - should also be donated to the MSS".
The Report costs £1.93, is available wordwide, and distills all of the information from the TMB's 2015 Diary into a handy digital platform. "I'd like to think people will enjoy reading about the TMB's activities over the past 12 months, and if we can raise a few more pounds for this fantastic cause, all to the good," Sir Norman said.
"It's also perfect for people who don't have the kind of busy social life that requires them to have a diary," he added.
