Tripe Christmas bids for the charts

The Tripe Marketing Board has today released its tripe Christmas song Tripe Christmas on iTunes, the digital music platform.

The single - which premiered on BBC Hereford & Worcester last month and was recorded to help promote the TMB's 2015 Diary - features the Liverpool Socialist Singers and has been released following requests from tripe lovers all across the globe.

All proceeds from the sale of Tripe Christmas will be donated on a 50/50 basis to the Liverpool Socialist Singers and the UK Multiple Sclerosis Society - the TMB's chosen 'Christmas Charity' for 2014.

TMB chairman Sir Norman Wrassle said: "When this first aired on the Malcolm Boyden show, a spokesman from William Hill quoted a price of 1000/1 for this to become the next Christmas No 1.  I'll be putting a fiver on it myself!"

Sir Norman defended the song's lyrics, which include the controversial lines:

"I'm dreaming of a tripe Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know
Where the bankers are in prison
And feel a certain frisson
As ConDems pack their bags and go"

"It's just a bit of fun. The TMB is a strictly non-political organisation, but all our focus group work has shown that tripe is much more popular than bankers, so the allusion seems quite apposite to me," Sir Norman said.

The single can be downloaded via the iTunes store on this link.
