Ossett War Memorial Community Centre
Prospect Rd, Ossett WF5 8AN

You are cordially invited to join the Tripe Marketing Board for the public launch of our latest book, Forgotten Yorkshire and Parts of North Derbyshire and Humberside by Dr. Eric K. Shipley.

Your ticket (available in advance or on the door) includes a copy of the book, a limited edition TMB Pen and refreshments (including wine or soft drinks).

Introduced by TMB chairman Sir Norman Wrassle, and including a presentation by the TMB's famous Men in White, there will also be readings from the book by author, librarian and local historian Dr. Eric K. Shipley.

There will be an opportunity to hear more about the TMB's work promoting tripe to the nation, as well as to purchase other tripe books and gifts which will brighten up anyone's Christmas Day.

Where is Ossett
A: Here.

A: Is this event suitable for vegetarians?

Is this event suitable for vegans?
A: Yes, but they are kindly asked to refrain from throwing tofu.

What is Forgotten Yorkshire about?
A: It's the latest publication from TMB Books – the publishing division of the Tripe Marketing Board.  With a majestic sweep across the county and its near neighbours, Dr Eric K Shipley unveils aspects of Yorkshire’s history that many might have either forgotten entirely or perhaps just simply chosen not to recall.
Dr Shipley is an eminent librarian, thwarted only by his lack of any real historical perspective.  He nevertheless manages to bravely uncover some surprising ‘facts’ as he unveils the lost papers of the Sharp family of Ossett.

With reviews starting to trickle in. Yorkshire Life magazine was very complimentary.
 Lancashire Life, perhaps less so.

Will I be forced or required to eat tripe?

A:  Please note that, due to local licensing regulations, no tripe will be served at this event.
